West Northwest flow developing

Whistler Weather forecast

The ridge of high pressure giving dry conditions will weaken today. A weak cold front will slump across the south coast tonight bringing a few flurries and a cooling trend tonight through Friday morning. Gusty northerly winds will follow the cold front on Friday as a clearing trend develops.

Changes in the weather pattern will bring a series of disturbances for the weekend. The first weak system will bring flurries that will end Friday morning with partial clearing expected Friday afternoon.

A stronger disturbance will approach the region on Saturday bringing flurries. Temperatures will rise slightly during the day

The remnants of a good sized pacific storm to the north of us will slide down the BC coast. By the time it gets here it may not have much left in it. The third disturbance will come through on early Sunday morning bringing a bit more snow and a cooling and clearing trend. Expect light amounts of precip through the long range, most of this precip will go south.

Long range:(subject to change daily at this point) It would appear another arctic ridge may be developing over northerneastern BC deflecting this westerly flow south. The dreaded 1024mb high that has been deflecting snow away from the region..(go away) Temperatures at treeline will be in the -12C to -15C for this period. Wednesday should bring more precip from a system to the south.
