    Warm Front

    An Approaching Warm Front Will Spread Some Scattered Flurries Over Higher Terrain Today. A Cold Front Will Approach The Region In The Wake Of The Warm Front Spreading Heavier Precipitation Mainly In The Form Of Snow Tonight. A Cold And Unstable Airmass In The Wake Of The Cold Front Will Spread Flurries On Sunday.

    A 988 millibar low 250 miles west of Langara early this morning will move onto the southern Alaska Panhandle tonight. The associated north to south front near the Queen Charlottes early this morning will move to northern Vancouver Island near noon and the Lower Mainland by early this evening

    Snowfall Accumulation 3 To 5 Cm.
    Freezing Level 1300 Metres.
    Mountain Top Winds Southeast 40 Km/H Gusting To 60.

    Surf's up

    High winds and rising temperatures yesterday brought us some fairly dense new snow to the alpine above around 5500ft. The alpine should be fresh this morning after over 100km/ph winds from the south Thursday kept the top closed, -8C up top- 30km/ph winds this morn. Happy riding!

    A ridge of high pressure will build briefly over southern Vancouver Island this morning then drift east later in the day. An intensifying low and associated frontal system well offshore will move toward the coast today with the front lying from the queen charlottes southeastwards overnight.

    Today in the Valley..Cloudy with sunny periods. High plus 4.
    Tonight..Cloudy. A few showers beginning near midnight. Low plus 1.
    Saturday..Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers in the morning.
    Periods of rain beginning early in the afternoon. High plus 4

    5 To 10 Cm of snow


    A Pacific Frontal System Will Spread Precipitation Over The South Coast Mountains Today. The front will move rapidly across bc coastal mountains this Morning. A ridge of high pressure will build briefly behind the Front later today and will cross the coast overnight. The Precipitation Will End This Evening As The System Moves Out Of The Region And A Weak Ridge Of High Pressure Builds Over The Area. A Second Frontal System Will Approach The South Coast Mountains On Friday Bringing Precipitation.

    Alpine High Minus 1.
    Snowfall Accumulation 5 To 10 Cm.
    Freezing Level Near Valley Bottom Rising To 1400 Metres This Afternoon.
    Mountain Top Winds Southwest 40 To 60 Km/H.

    Today in the Valley..Periods of snow changing to periods of rain this morning.
    Snowfall amount 2 cm. High plus 4.
    Tonight..Periods of rain ending this evening then cloudy periods. Low

    Series of fronts

    A frontal system 60 miles west of the queen charlottes early this morning will move east to lie from the central coast to southern Vancouver Island this afternoon and then continue onto the mainland coast this evening. An associated 990 millibar low will move northeast to lie over the southern Alaska Panhandle this afternoon

    Precipitation Over The South Coast Mountains is expected Today Through Saturday. Higher Freezing Levels Are Expected Tomorrow..

    A Second Pacific Frontal System Will Approach The Area On Friday And Cross The South Coast Mountains On Saturday Bringing More Precipitation To The Area. Flurries And Lower Freezing Levels Are Expected On Sunday In The Wake Of The System.

    We can expect to see some scattered flurries with sunny breaks today. A system offshore should bring steady snowfall starting late Wednesday with freezing levels rising slightly.

    A trough of low pressure in a north to south line through Langara will move onto the north coast this morning and then stall just west of Cape Scott this afternoon. A low well offshore will approach the northern offshore waters early Wednesday morning while the Associated front moves into Queen Charlotte Sound overnight.

    Light snow

    A 1000 millibar low about 120 miles west of Brooks Peninsula will drift slowly northwestward today and weaken. A front well to the West will move through the offshore waters tonight to approach the north island early Tuesday morning. A stronger storm will brew for Thursday with high winds, snow, and rising freezing levels.

    A Low Pressure Trough Will Maintain Precipitation Over The South Coast Mountains Through This Afternoon. Drier Conditions Are Expected Tonight Through Tuesday As A Weak Ridge Of High Pressure Builds Over The Area.

    Snowfall Accumulation 2 To 5 Cm.
