    Another Dump

We received another 15cm last night at -8C, and it continues to snow heavily right to the valley for now. Looks like freezing levels should rise to around 1500m this afternoon, and to 1800m by later on Saturday. Another cooler system in behind of Monday and Tuesday

    Rainfall warning for Howe Sound
50 to 70 mm of rain expected by Saturday morning for Greater Vancouver Howe Sound and western Fraser Valley.

20-30cm of light density snow has fallen early in the week. This overlies a previous variable windslab at upper elevations, and a crust below 1900m. Avalanche danger at all elevations; are expected to rise to above high hazard in the backcountry as a slick bed surface sits underneth.

A 1000 millibar low over the Charlottes will move northeastward through Prince Rupert by early this afternoon. A warm front Extending southeastward from the low will reach the mainland coast this morning. A cold front also extends southwestward from the low and is forecast to lie across the northern tip of Vancouver Island overnight.

The pineapple brought 80-90mm of precipitation and consistently strong winds from the SE and E. Winds have since shifted to the west bringing in cooller air untill Friday when another system wil approach from the SW. The precipitation fell totally as wet snow above about 1900m so dense it pasted everything even cliff faces. Then it all froze.. Wind gusts during the storm were clocked at 145km/ph peak gusts in the alpine enough to damage most wind monitoring equipment.
