    Post Deluge

    After a deluge of rain in the valley, and snow above 1700m the system responsible has slipped to the south of us. The alpine has cooled off to -6C, winds are strong out of the SE at 70km/ph+. Looks like we've got some ridging building in Monday and Tuesday with some sun and cloud, another cooler system Wednesday out of the West.

    Snowfall Accumulation Trace To 2 Cm.
    Freezing Level Rising To 900 Metres Then Lowering To Near Valley Bottom In The Evening.

    Warm, windy and wet

    A front over central Vancouver Island early this morning will intensify early today and slide east of the region by this evening. An associated low pressure system will intensify as it moves northeast through Queen Charlotte Sound this morning and early this afternoon

    Warm, windy and wet weather is expected through Saturday with cooling possible on Sunday.

    Wet Coast

    A pacific frontal system is expected to bring mild temperatures and intense winds and precipitation to our area beginning this morning and continuing through Saturday. Heavy wet precipitation is likely at higher elevations with wet snow and rain likley up to treeline. Expect freezing levels to fluctuate between 1600m-1800m, upper elevations should receive over 1m during the event.

    A front near the Queen Charlottes early this morning will Slide down the coast it will then remain stationary over southern British Columbia through Saturday morning. The front is expected to bring up to 110 mm of rain over Greater Vancouver western Fraser Valley and Howe Sound and 130 mm over West Vancouver Island. The rain should ease by Saturday afternoon as the front moves into Washington state.

    Big Storm

    It looks like a good storm is brewing out in the pacific. Freezing levels have been amended to around 1600m copious amounts of precip are expected for Friday as a 979mb low approaches from the pacific. The low centred off the Alaska Panhandle will pound the region Friday and Saturday.

    A Warm Front Approaching The South Coast Will Bring Periods Of Precip Today And Tonight With Gradually Rising Freezing Levels. The Trailing Cold Front Will Move Through Friday Morning With A Second Frontal System Approaching Late Friday.

    Today..Light Snow.
    Alpine High Minus 4.
    Snowfall Accumulation 1 To 3 Cm.
    Freezing Level Near Valley Bottom.
    Mountain Top Winds South 30 To 50 Km/H.

    Tonight..Periods Of Snow.
    Alpine Temperature Steady Near Minus 4.
    Snowfall Accumulation 2 To 5 Cm.
    Freezing Level Near Valley Bottom.
    Mountain Top Winds South 50 To 70 Km/H Gusting To 90.

    A weak front stalled in an east to west line across central Vancouver Island will strengthen today as it moves northward as A warm front through the bc coast. A low will deepen to 972 Millibars by this evening over the northern gulf of Alaska.

    Warm front approaching

    A warm front approaching the coast will bring periods of intense precipitation and wind. A frontal system forecast for Wednesday through Thursday will bring moderate precipitation and low freezing levels. This will be followed with a break in the pattern on Friday..

    A significant storm on Saturday will develop This storm will arrive just in time for the weekend with very heavy precipitation and rising freezing levels towards 2000m.

    Today..Cloudy With Snow Developing This Morning. Alpine High Minus 7. Snowfall Accumulation 5 To 10 Cm. Freezing Level At Valley Bottom. Mountain Top Winds Southerly 30 To 50 Km/H.


    A warm front approaching the coast this morning will move through the coast near midday. The trailing cold front will move through the north coast this afternoon and will become stationary in an east to west line across southern Vancouver Island tonight.

    Sunny breaks

    Some drier air today, and cooler temperatures. It's -8.5C at Horstman hut this morning winds are out of the southwest at 50km/ph. 23cm in 24hrs allthough things probably have settled out quite a bit with the warm temperatures of yesterday at times reaching 0C at the roundhouse.

    Today..Cloudy With Sunny Breaks. A Few Flurries This Morning. Alpine High Minus 6. Snowfall Accumulation 1 To 3 Cm. Freezing Level At Valley Bottom. Mountain Top Winds Southwest 20 To 40 Km/H Becoming 20 Km/H This Afternoon

    A cold front in a north to south line over southern Vancouver Island will move inland early this morning. In its wake a ridge of high pressure will reach the offshore areas this morning and will cross the coast this afternoon. Following the ridge a fairly intense warm front will be approaching the coast tonight.

    Pacific storm

    Stormy conditions with another 10-15cm, strong winds and warm temperatures through the day. This disturbance will continue through the night and should start to break tomorrow afternoon.
    A Front Over The South Coast Today Will Produce Heavy Rain Or Snow Over The Mountains As Well As Strong Southerly Winds. In The Wake Of The Front Unsettled Flurries Expected On Tuesday With Low Freezing Levels.

    Today..Snow Heavy At Times.
    Alpine Temperature Steady Near Minus 3.
    Snowfall Accumulation 15 To 20 Cm.
    Freezing Level 1500 Metres.
    Mountain Top Winds South 60 To 90 Km/H.

    A front extending from the central coast across northern Vancouver Island and southwestward will cross Vancouver Island Today and exit over the Lower Mainland this evening. Meanwhile the associated 992 millibar low near cape St James early this morning will drift onto the north coast this afternoon. Behind the low a sharp ridge of high pressure will build towards coast overnight.

    A Weak Ridge Of High Pressure Will Keep The South Coast Generally Dry With Possible Afternoon Sunny Periods Today. The Next Frontal System Will Spread Snow Or Rain Beginning Overnight Through Monday. Strong Southerly Winds Will Accompany With The Front.

    A ridge of high pressure extending towards Queen Charlotte Sound from the southwest will weaken today as the next in a series Of frontal systems approaches the bc coast. The front will move onto the north coast overnight while the associated low deepens to 992 millibars and moves to lie just west of cape St James by early Monday morning.
