    Sun / few clouds

    Whistler Weather forecast

    Some flurries overnight as cool unstable air sticks around this evening. For tommorow a ridge of high pressure will build from the interior.

    Were expecting a mix of sun and cloud for tommorow hopefully more sun than cloud will appear.

    Out in the pacific a 995 millibar low near Langara Island late this morning will weaken and move to the mainland coast early this evening. A pacific front will approach the offshore waters overnight reaching 100 miles west of Langara Island Sunday morning. No worries for us as the above mentioned system will not arrive in Whistler untill Monday.

    The snow was sitting on some pretty hard pan underneth earlier in the week so tips up!

    A front extending from Prince Rupert to Queen Charlotte Sound Then southwestward early this morning will move to Tofino this afternoon and to the Lower Mainland overnight. A 990 millibar low will approach the Charlottes from the west tonight while weakening.

    The low will continue to hammer us today and tonight with Strong Winds And Heavy Precipitation Across The South Coast Mountains

    The System Will Move South Of The Region By Saturday Morning. A Cool And Unstable Airmass Will Linger Across The Region Through Saturday Producing Frequent Showers Or Flurries.

    Today in the alpine..Snow. Alpine High Minus 3. Snowfall Accumulation 4 To 8 Cm.
    Freezing Level Increasing To 1400 Metres This Afternoon. Mountain Top Winds South 30 Km/H Increasing To Southerly 50 To 70 Km/H This Afternoon.

    Today in the valley..Rain. Rain mixed with light snow early this morning. High 7.
    Tonight..Rain. Low plus 2.
    Saturday..Rain ending late in the morning then cloudy with 60 percent
    chance of showers. Risk of a thundershower in the afternoon. High 8.

    Some light flurries out there this morning above 1000m.

    Today..Cloudy with sunny periods and 30 percent chance of showers.
    High 10. UV index 4 or moderate.
    Tonight..Cloudy. Periods of snow beginning overnight. Low plus 1.
    Friday..Periods of snow changing to rain in the morning. High 7.

    We should see a mainly cloudy day today with flurries developing overnight. Friday should bring snow, heavy at times with cool temperatures and moderate winds. More snow is forecasted for Saturday with sunny breaks on Sunday.

    A weak ridge of high pressure in a north to south line through the Charlottes will move into the bc interior tonight. Meanwhile a fairly intense pacific front well offshore will move onto the north coast overnight moderate southerly winds will rise to strong southeast by this late tonight.

    Intense Pacific Frontal Sytem Will Spread Strong Winds And Heavy Snow Or Rain Across The Area On Friday.

    A 1005 millibar low over northern Vancouver Island will move slowly northeastward to lie over the Charlottes tonight. A weak ridge of high pressure will also build over Vancouver Island by this evening.

    Over the coast range Today..Should be a nice one bluebird this morning. A Mix Of Sun And Cloud this afternoon. Alpine High Minus 1. Freezing Level 800 Metres. Mountain Top Winds South 10 Km/H.

    Tonight..Mainly Cloudy. 30 Percent Chance Of Flurries Overnight.
    Alpine Low Minus 4. Freezing Level Near Valley Bottom. Mountain Top Winds South 10 Km/H.

    For the weekend we've got a storm brewing with low freezing levels and heavy precip. The low centred off the queen charlottes will begin it's approach from the west / southwest by mid morning Friday.

    A weak ridge of high pressure over the bc coast will yield briefly to a very weak low crossing central coast waters today. The Ridge will then rebuild over the bc interior tonight.

    Moderate southwesterly winds low approaches this morning. Winds will back again to moderate easterly later tonight as the Ridge begins to build over the interior.

    Out Of The District By Wednesday Afternoon Allowing Isolated Showers Or Flurries To Develop In The Northeast Mountain Top Flow Behind The Ridge.

    A Frontal System Moving Across Today Will Spread Snow Or Rain To The Region. Unsettled Onshore Flow In The Wake Of The System Will Result In Scattered Flurries Tonight Into Tuesday.
    Freezing Level Will Lower To Near 700 Metres.
