    Spring in Whistler continues with cool temperatures and cloud. We are definitely below normal on the sunshine hours this spring. Another day of lingering cloud with possible flurries. The freezing level will climb to about 1900m.

    Freezing Level 800 Metres Rising To 1000 Metres This Afternoon.

    Chance Of Thunderstorms

    A Dusting of snow to the valley last night will hopefully be the last. Yesterdays wild weather brought snow to the alpine and rain and gusty winds to the valley.

    An Upper Trough Of Low Pressure Along The Coast Will Continue To Bring Scattered Flurries And A Chance Of Thunderstorms Today. The Trough Will Shift Inland Tonight And Drier Conditions Are Expected On Friday.

    Today in the alpine..Flurries With Risk Of A Thunderstorm.
    Alpine High Minus 2.
    Snowfall Accumulation 5 To 10 Cm.
    Freezing Level 900 Metres Rising To 1300 Metres This Afternoon.
    Mountain Top Winds South 20 Km/H.

    Today in the valley..A few flurries changing to a few rain showers this morning.
    Risk of a thundershower late this morning and this afternoon. High 9.
    Tonight..Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Risk of a
    thundershower early this evening. Low plus 3.
    Friday..Cloudy with sunny periods and 30 percent chance of showers in
    the morning and afternoon. Clearing late in the day. High 11.

    A low pressure system will remain stationary just west of Dixon entrance today then move to the north late in the day. A ridge will build offshore tonight.

    Looks like the weekend will warm up nicely on Sunday bringing finally warmer temperatures. Highs for the valley Sunday could reach 20C.

    A low pressure system moving north across Explorer will stall Over western Queen Charlotte Sound this morning. A weak low pressure system will give us unsettled conditions through Thursday.

    Freezing Level 1600 Metres.
    Mountain Top Winds Southeast 30 Km/H Gusting To 50 Diminishing This Morning To 20.

    A Weak Low Pressure System Will Spread Scattered Flurries Or Rain Showers Today, Tonight And Tomorrow.

    A frontal system just over offshore waters will slowly advance eastwards to lie just west of the Queen Charlottes and Vancouver Island by this afternoon. The front will weaken then slowly make its way to the north coast overnight. A low centre will drift eastward towards the south coast tonight and stall west of Vancouver Island.

    A really nice morning to start. Blue skies, temperature hovering right around 0C to start but it should warm up quickly once the sun's out. For tommorow a approaching weak pacific front will enter the region bring showers.

    A ridge of high pressure across Vancouver Island will weaken and shift eastwards today. A 990 millibar low south of the aleutians Will drop south across pacific offshore waters today. An associated pacific front across offshore waters will move toward the north Coast today and break down the ridge on the south coast tonight.

    Breaking this morning

    Whistler Weather forecast

    Yesterday's snow has refrozen to around 2100m, as some really warm air came through yesterday afternoon. Alpine temps shot up to around +6C. True north faces may retain some good snow today variable wind scoured snow exists in open areas up high with easy traveling conditions. The refrozen snow will hopefully melt this afternoon for some spring riding. We've got some breaks out there, and Vancouver is sunny. So hopefully that's coming our way this afternoon.

    A ridge of high pressure over Vancouver Island will extend over central mountains today. A 980 millibar low near the aleutians will remain stationary today. A pacific front will approach northern coast this afternoon then spread to northern coastal Waters tonight.
