A ridge of high pressure will remain in a north to south line near the central coast today then will collapse tonight. An intense frontal system will approach from the southwest tonight crossing the bc coast on Saturday. Over the coast mountains light to moderate southeast winds will develop today and rise to strong easterlies tonight.

A ridge of high pressure will build in a north to south line Just west of the Queen Charlotte Islands through Thursday. Meanwhile a trough of low pressure will weaken over the interior of bc. A weak and dissipating front will reach the northern offshore waters this afternoon and evening.

A low well to the southwest will deepen to 985 millibars As it tracks northwards just west of the region overnight. The cold front will cross the Charlottes overnight to lie in a north south line through Hecate strait and just west of Cape Scott by dawn Monday.
