    A weakening low near Queen Charlotte Sound will move onto the central coast this morning. A ridge of high pressure in a north to south line will approach from the west to lie over the Queen Charlottes by late this afternoon. An intense low will move towards the Alaska Panhandle from the southwest with its associated front approaching north and central coasts tonight.

    A Low Pressure System Over The South Coast Will Weaken And Move Eastward Today Giving Periods Of Snow Changing To A Chance Of Flurries This Evening. The Next Frontal System Will Arrive On Sunday And Will Be Accompanied By A Strong Warming Trend With Snow Changing To Rain.

    A low pressure system moving northward into the gulf of Alaska Will gradually weaken. Another low currently offshore is Forecast to deepen rapidly to 980 MB as it approaches Southern Vancouver Island from the southwest this morning.

    Rainfall warning for Howe Sound continued

    Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm expected for today and tonight.

    A very vigorous storm system incorporating the remnants from tropical storm lingling will move through the south coast today. Very strong southeasterly winds are expected to develop as the system approaches Vancouver Island with wind speeds forecast to reach up to 80 or 90 km/h off Victoria and the Southern Gulf Islands. In Greater Vancouver the strongest winds are expected to be from the south up to 70 km/h in the late afternoon and early evening with the southern portions of the district likely to be the hardest hit. Very strong west or southwest winds will follow the system especially near southern Vancouver Island with speeds up to 90 km/h forecast in Victoria near the strait of Juan de Fuca. Winds will quickly ease over all areas this evening.

    This storm will also bring moderate to heavy rain with general rainfall amounts are expected between 30 to 50 mm over southern Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. Howe Sound will receive up to 60 mm. The rain will taper off tonight as the storm moves inland.

    An Onshore Flow Of Moist Unstable Air Will Result In Bands Of showers today.
    A Major Storm Is Likely In Store For Thursday With Heavy Precipitation, High Winds in the alpine, And A Warming Trend. A strong low will approach Vancouver Island from the southwest on Thursday but considerable uncertainty remains as to where it will make landfall.

    A low west of the Queen Charlottes will move to the north of the regions today. A frontal trough in a north south axis across Vancouver Island will reach the coast by midday and dissipate.

    Accumulations through Friday in the alpine expected to be in the 0.5m-1m range in the high alpine with wind loading etc. A warm spike is expected through the storm with cooling in behind.

    5 Day Trend...More Snow Is Likely On Friday As Another Frontal System Crosses The South Coast And The Freezing Level Drops Again.

    Some Clearing Is Expected For Saturday As A Ridge Of High Pressure Builds Across The South Coast. Clouds Will Move Back To The Region.

A Second Front Will Approach The Bc Coast Tuesday Afternoon Giving Periods Of Snow to Alpine regions. The main event on Wednesday will give us our second good dump close to the valley floor.

    A pacific front in a north to south line over northern Vancouver Island will weaken as it moves very slowly eastward to be through The Lower Mainland sometime this evening.     A ridge of high pressure over the south coast will gradually Weaken today. A trough of low pressure will move onto the central And north coasts this morning and weaken tonight. A low is forecast to deepen rapidly as it tracks northeastward towards the southern offshore tonight. This intense low is expected to track northward to lie just west of Queen Charlotte Sound by Tuesday night.

    A Deepening Low Pressure System Will Move Across British Columbia This Weekend. This System Is Expected To Bring A Mix Bag Of Rain And Snow, Along With Some Strong Winds To The Alpine Regions.

    A 986 MB low about 120 miles west of cape St James will track across the Charlottes early this evening and onto the mainland coast near Prince Rupert near midnight. A trailing cold front will move rapidly southeastward behind the low crossing Tofino Sunday morning and exiting over the Lower Mainland in the afternoon,
