    The weekend

    Whistler Weather forecast
    Arctic air is firmly entrenched in the valleys of the bc interior this morning. Meanwhile over the pacific a series of storm systems are taking shape and are headed toward the bc coast. These systems will collide with the cold dry Arctic air over the interior. Resulting in a transition to very mild and wet conditions by Monday afternoon. During the transition significant winter weather is likley over the weekend and into Monday morning. Most valley locations in the interior can expect to see snow, possibly heavy, as well as a brief period of freezing rain as the milder air moves in. Heavy snow is almost certain over the mountain passes. Finally on Monday gusty winds and heavy rain are possible.

    A Low Pressure System Has Developed Just Offshore Of Vancouver Island Overnight. It Will Combine With Cool Arctic Air To Produce Snow Over Most Areas Of The South Coast Today Through Sunday.

    Whistler Weather forecast A weak inverted trough of low pressure along the coast will strengthen today. A 1007 MB low will form west of Vancouver Island tonight. Meanwhile a ridge of high pressure will continue to build over the British Columbia interior throughout the period. For today.. An Arctic Ridge Of High Pressure Will Produce Generally Clear Skies And Cool Temperatures Today. A Low Will Develop Off Of Southern Vancouver Island On Saturday Morning And Will Bring Some Flurries To The South Coast. Arctic ridge An Intense 960mb low is developing near 40N 160W. It will start as snow mid day Sunday, and Will Bring Major Changes For Sunday Through Monday...A warm intense low developing in the pacific will most likely hit sometime overnight Sunday overriding arctic air stuck in the valley. Freezing rain and significant winds are expected as the warm front comes in. Accumulations to near 1m of snow followed by 60mm of rain Monday and more warming in behind the system for next week.     A pacific front stalled in a northwest to southeast line just off the outer coast this morning will continue to weaken into a weak inverted trough of low pressure along the coast. Meanwhile a ridge of high pressure will be building over the British Columbia interior.

    An Arctic Ridge Of High Pressure Will Build Over The Interior During The Next Couple Of Days. This Building Ridge Will Bring Clearing Skies Today And Mainly Clear Skies Along With Colder Temperatures Tonight And Friday.

    A significant storm is developing in the pacific for Sunday and Monday and it's bringing lots of warm air with it.



    Today Cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries early this morning then sunny with cloudy periods. High minus 2.

    A Frontal System Will Approach The Bc Coast Spreading Periods Of Snow To The Region Today Through This Evening. A Ridge Of High Pressure Will Build Along The Bc Coast Giving Mainly Sunny Conditions On Thursday.

    An approaching pacific frontal system over the northern offshore waters this morning will move eastward then stall in a northwest to southeast line along the outer coast by this afternoon. The front will then gradually weaken tonight while remaining just off the Outer coast.

    Today Alpine..Periods Of Snow.
    Alpine Temperature Steady Near Minus 8.
    Snowfall Accumulation Near 5 Cm.
    Freezing Level At Valley Bottom.
    Mountain Top Winds Light And Variable.

    Today Valley.. Cloudy. 40 percent chance of flurries early this morning. Periods of snow beginning this morning. Amount 5 cm. High minus 2.

    Tonight Periods of snow ending this evening then cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. Amount 2 cm. Low minus 5.
