    960 millibar low

    Whistler Weather forecast

    The system arriving onshore this morning will bring steady snowfall throughout the day today and overnight. Another series of systems is expected to arrive on Saturday and Sunday accompanied by heavy snowfall and another round of strong winds.

    A 960 millibar low well offshore will track northeastwards to lie 120 miles southwest of Tofino this afternoon. The low will then Drift northwards and inland while slowly weakening. An Intense Low Pressure System Approaching Vancouver Island This Morning Will Spread Snow Or Rain At Times Heavy To The South Coast Mountains Today Through Saturday Morning. Strong Southerly Winds Gusting Up To 100 Km/H Are Expected Associated With The System.

    Today Alpine..Snow Heavy At Times. Alpine Temperature Steady Near Minus 4. Snowfall Accumulation 10 To 15 Cm. Freezing Level Surface. Mountain Top Winds Southeast 20 Km/H Increasing This Morning To 30 To 50 Gusting To 70. Tonight..Snow Heavy At Times. Alpine Low Minus 5. Snowfall Accumulation 10 To 15 Cm. Freezing Level Surface. Mountain Top Winds Southeast 30 To 50 Km/H Gusting To 70.

    A low well off the Oregon coast will deepen to 980 millibars and track northeastwards to pass just offshore Cape Scott this Afternoon. The low will move onto the central coast this evening And fill. The associated front will sweep across the south coast This afternoon. A second deep low will move into the southern offshore waters early Friday morning.

    A Low Pressure System Will Approach North Vancouver Island Today Spreading Snow To The South Coast Mountains Today Through Tonight. Another Low Pressure System Will Bring More Precipitation To The Areas On Friday.

    Today..Periods of snow. Amount 5 to 10 cm. High plus 1.
    Tonight..Snow ending overnight then cloudy with 60 percent chance of
    flurries. Snow mixed with rain this evening. Snowfall amount 10 cm.
    Low minus 1.
    Friday..Cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries early in the morning.
    Snow mixed with rain beginning in the morning. Snowfall amount 10 to
    15 cm. High plus 1.

    Snowfall warning for
    Whistler continued

    Total snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are expected for Howe Sound and Whistler as well as Central Coast - inland sections tonight through Wednesday.

    An intense pacific frontal system over British Columbia coast is spreading very strong southeasterly winds to Central Coast - coastal sections..North Vancouver Island..West Vancouver Island..East Vancouver Island..Sunshine Coast. The strong winds are expected to abate overnight with the passage of the front. Meanwhile as the front moves southwards strong southeasterly winds will develop over Greater Victoria..Greater Vancouver..Southern Gulf Islands. The strong winds over these regions are expected to ease overnight or Wednesday morning as the front moves inland and weakens.

    The front is currently giving heavy snow to Central Coast - inland sections. It will bring heavy snow to Howe Sound and Whistler tonight through Wednesday with total accumulations of 15 to 20 cm before the front weakens.

    A Warm Front Will Spread A Few Flurries To The Area This Afternoon. A Cold Front Will Cross The South Coast Tonight Giving Heavy Snow Through Wednesday.
